I have had 5 poults hatch out so far, the first 4 were all stereotypical blacks, I think they will be Rusty blacks, but the 5th one is different.
It is black, but has a different pattern.

First picture is the baby, 2nd is what all the others look like, and last ones are parents. Mom is an auburn, not pure, mother was a sweetgrass, dad is a Jersey buff mix, also not pure, his father is a Jersey buff, his mother is unkown Narragansett type.

Not real sure, but it looks chocolate. Should be interesting to see what it ends up looking like. Mixes are always surprising me with their colors.
That’s what I was thinking too, but then it grew in the same wing feathers as the rest 🤔
It’ll be so cool to see what they turn into.

Chocolate turkeys start out as brown poults. Your poult is black, not brown.
I know that, but he looked pretty brown in person, turned more black as he grew. I thought he may have been a darker chocolate, as I have gotten quite a bit of variation in ones that’ll grow up the same so far.
I just can’t figure out what else he could be, so I jumped to chocolate.
