Any Guesses?!

Hello! These are 2 of our 3 chicks, about 3 weeks old I think? The first was guessed to be a speckled sussex or possibly RIR. Any guesses on that? I am afraid this one might be a roo. Very thick legs, bigger than the other 2, likes to roost, much spunkier, and has the most developed comb. Any insight is appreciated!

This one was guessed to be a Barred Rock. I thought she might be a girl because of the white spot on her head and the black legs (info attained from googling). But she has a 3 rowed pea comb developing also. This one my son has named Blackie aka Crusher.




The 3rd chick is our little Buff Orpington and she/he's not developed anything noticeable to help identify gender that I can tell. I've read tons of articles and from what I'm reading it is just very hard to tell gender at this point, but I'd love any insight from the chicken loving community! Thank you!

We live on a small 7,000 sq ft lot, with very close neighbors so we've got our fingers crossed for hens, although I've been reading hens can be noisy too!

Your barred chick is most likely a Dominique probably roo and your red chick doesn't look like a ss to me if rir it appears at this point to be a pullet. imo

Oh you're right! Our Crusher definitely has the comb of a Dominique, not a BR. So much to learn. Happy you think Penny is a pullet!
