Hello! I am a first time chicken owner (as an adult on my own lol). We purchased Day old chicks from a hatchery in April. They are currently about 12 and a half weeks old of the Bantam variety. I am pretty sure the couple I have questions about are red Cochins. Well at 12 weeks one in particular has been crowing. It started about a week ago just every so often but, has since gotten out of hand. It’s been crowing at 5 am and will continue randomly throughout the day until sundown. She also has been very aggressive in the past. Particularly to the other chicken of the same breed. I would just like to be sure she is a she or that both are she’s? If so if there is anything I can do to stop the crowing and aggressive behavior? The first picture attached is not the one crowing the third picture is. We live in a development and I can’t have crowing going on. Any help would be so appreciated! Thank you so much!

Hi Jenni,
The first picture is a pullet. The second and third picture is a cockerel. Notice the huge comb and wattles. A cockerel will crow while a pullet usually will not.

Thank you so much that’s what I was afraid of!

I dont have an roosters myself but supposedly the no crow collars work wonders. The aggression might just be part of owning a rooster. You could seperate him from the rest of the flock perminately though. Try your state or rehoming thread if youre looking to get rid of him.
Thank you! Unfortunately I will have to re-home them! Thanks so much for your advice!
