I remember my very first hatch four years ago...I was so excited and I DID candle after three days LOL Seen VERY slight veining and I ended up with a 100% hatch with SHIPPED eggs! It was a brand new Hoba Bator and I was so thrilled! Now I upgraded to a cabinet type and just two days ago got myself 100% hatch #4

They were all my own eggs though. This time I have some eggs in there that I PRAY I will get at least a 50% hatch (75 eggs). I'm watching my water tank VERY closely! I want these chicks VERY badly

They are the BLRW I splurged on in BBS

So exciting!
It does seem like the more I hatch the faster the 21 days goes! LOL

I want in. I'm on day 4 right now, due to hatch July 8th. I set 14 asst. bantam cochin eggs from a BYCer. I candle everyday, I have nine going good right now. I'm using a home made bator. This is my second run. On my trial I hatched 4/5 from local eggs. I think the 5th egg drowned at internal pip due to me running the humidity too high the first 18 days. This time I'm using no water till lockdown July 5th.
Here are some pics.

The 4 in the green lines are blue/lemons- 3 are veined and going good. The four in the red lines are mille fleur callicos- I don't think any of those are gonna make it, but it's early... they sure don't look like the others do.

The 3 in a straight line are mottled frizzles and all 3 are developing. The 2 closest to the red wire nuts are splash frizzles, both are making it so far, and the one all by itself is a red, and it's also doing very well.

One tip I can give you for hatching shipped eggs this time of year is to put the eggs in the incubator immediately upon arrival. Sometimes they start incubating in-transit, so setting them immediately helps deter loss from the started embryos dying. If you have a turner, leave it off (or take a few racks out since you've got other eggs in there) so they don't turn for the first few days. If you are hand turning, put them pointy end down in an egg carton and let them sit like that for a day (inside the incubator). Then turn as normal after about 24-48 hours. This has helped my hatches greatly on eggs in the summer
