You need to let them rest upright (pointy end down) so the air cells can 'stabilize' in the proper area. You can take the turner arm off the turning bar so the rack is still in there but not turning. Or you could take the racks out completely and put an egg carton in there.

I'd love to join - this is my first time hatching shipped eggs. Put 11 silkies in on June 15th and then 12 Blue Orpingtons in on June 19th. I really hope it works. A little worried about the silkie eggs because it took 5 days to get here in the mail (Priority) and I'm guessing it was warm most of the way here. It wasn't warm here though. Getting tired of 40s and 50s this week (seems like the first day of summer was more like winter up here).

I put a new batch of Ringneck Pheasant eggs in my incubator a few days ago. They take a little longer to hatch than chicken eggs.

The rain and cold is all up here. My chicken run looks like a lake and the chickens have all become the "splash" variety (mud that is).

I'm leaving my eggs for a week so I can go pick up my grandson. Hopefully he will be able to see some babies hatch. I did a 5 day candle tonight on a dozen of the 63 I set and all but 1 showed veining and a small dark spot. I had to toss 2 - one cracked and I was a leaker. These are Australorps and had a rough shipment. The Silver Penciled Rocks that I checked are looking good. They were shipped to Florida from Michigan!! Looks like my own Barrred Rock eggs are starting to go too!! I won't be back till they are on day 15. That should help with the anxiety. ......stan
