Does RIR come in a bantam chicken?
We ordered all Bantam size birds, and it is still smaller than the 2 silkies and sultan bantam we got it with (all 1 day olds).

Could it be a Japanese Bantam? It's legs are long, but Japs don't always have the perfect short legs that they should have. There are buff, black tailed Japs.

Come to think of it after reading the Japanese Bantam description it's wing feathers are outlined with a buff color. So it could possibly be a hen then, also?
Thank you I'll keep updating it's pics each week.

I had a RIR and New Hampshire chick and they where way darker in color. So I don't think you have a RIR or New Hampshire. I have Been told by a couple differnt people that Ideal will let you send in a pic of the chick and they will tell you what it is. It's worth a shot

Thank you, I sent a few different pics of it to Ideal just after we got them home. They told me they had no idea what we received, but to resend again when it's 6 wks old. They might be able to identify it then. It's such a beautiful bird, we'd just like to know what kind it is.

Kat's Silly Chickens :

We still have now clue what breed it is.
Here are new pics at 2 1/2 weeks of age.

Anyone want to take a guess?

Now Goldie fanned out her wing to show it's feather color better.
