I bought four Blue Plymouth rock chicks for my broody this spring. This one looks like another breed or maybe a mix. Any ideas?

Wow! She looks interesting i thing she might be half blue andalusian or blue Plymouth rock maybe? I'm not sure tho.

All "plymouth blue Rocks" are hybrid mixes and not Rocks at all, it's a very misleading name.. They're a sex linked cross with splash Andalusian rooster over barred rock hen.. producing blue pullets and barred cockerels.

That being said.. with the brownish head/chest.. I'd guess another hybrid/cross/blue sex link like saphire gem, rhode island blue, etc.. depending on which harchery they came from. Some sale "dominant copper" or under other names that are black (or blue maybe splash) copper Marans over barred rock hens and the offspring look very similar to what you have there.

Can you post a picture of her legs? Where did you get her? She looks like the hybrid, Rhode Island Blue.

Edit to add: The rooster looks like the same hybrid. I'd say they're a Blue Sex Link of some sort.

Thank you everyone. She has yellow non-feathered legs. She is from tractor supply so I did not expect a purebred. She is very sweet and I am happy to have her, I was just wondering since she is so different from the others.
