Any idea on breed?

Hi all, I got four of these little dudes and dudeets and no idea on breed? Any guesses? Sorry if pictures aren't the best

black copper marans. The first one pictured is likely a cockerel, as he's got a rather large comb for the age.

Yeah I think two are definitely boys they are already fighting. And only about three weeks old. Is that 100% bcm? Awesome you guys can tell that.

Fighting doesn't mean male or female. Females will fight to establish pecking order; who's more dominant.
With the single comb, lightly feathered white legs and the black... pretty good bet its a BCM.

I agree, BCM. They are a wonderful breed, I enjoy mine very much.

Where did you get them? Hoover's is making a "Midnight Majesty Marans" hybrid that looks like that, too. So if it came from a farm supply store, odds are that's what it is.

Very likely Marans. Could be blacks could be black copper.

I see.

I think people assume chicks that resemble a breed are that breed because most of us bought chicks from hatcheries or breeders selling them as that breed. But a random crossing can look like that, too. You'll have to wait and see what traits it has as an adult when you have no information about the origin other than someone gave it to you.
