Any idea on breed?

Ok thanks guys!

Do any of you happen to know how long it takes for them to start laying? I got them Saturday afternoon. They were laying eggs at my neighbors. We have two nest boxes set up and their roosts and then a heat lamp in their coop since the neighbors had one set up and they were used to it. They can't free range because I have dog that kills chickens... but they have a nice little fenced in area to roam in. We've been leaving layer pellets out for them to eat through out the day/night as they please and then throw some scratch feed in their pen each morning.

Sorry about all the questions. :) Just excited for my first chickens and to learn about them!

My experience has been that when they are in a new environment, they stop laying briefly. It may take a couple of days and up to 2 weeks before they resume laying. I have not seen any go past 2 weeks. That is just my personal experience. Black Sex Links are Excellent layers of large to extra large light brown eggs.

Does anybody know what breed this is?
If I see her chest,I would know.Any gold?If so she's a black sexlink/Black rock.

Is she large and no type gold feathering, just black? If so she's a Jersy giant.

If she is just black with nothing I described up top,she australorp.

From my experiences with new birds coming,it could take up to a 2 weeks or so.If you get them user to you,(Which assists),they'll probably feel more comfortable laying.

Scroll all over half posts to say that she isnt black sex link!
