so no clue what breed it is?

I believe it's a polish....was just answering the comb question as sometimes to introduce ingredients needed for a project color can bring some genetics that take a while (and selective breeding) to get rid of, if thos was a hatchery soyrce bird quantity trumps quality in breeding so off characteristics fir breeds are more common, such as single combs in wyandottes that are meant to be rose combed

At 6 weeks it's a bit young to know sex for sure. The beginnings of wattles already may mean it's a boy, give it another few weeks. I don't know that it's a purebred polish, that crest is pretty small, and legs should be slate color I believe. It also could be an appenzeller or mix with one. Where did you get it?

He or she has feathers like a tolbunt or candy corn but he or she was a yellow chick, doesn’t really make sense

If it helps at all... I have a Silver laced polish pullet, that is 12 weeks old and STILL has zero comb or wattles. Your chick looks to already be starting them already. So you might have the start of a little cockerel there!
