Any idea what could have snatched my chicken?

Generally if it is a fox or anything of that sort there will be feathers evident

My barred rocks go broody at least once a year. Broodiness is hormonal and you can't encourage hormones.

We knew we were taking a risk because we have a lot of predators around here but we were under the impression that they mainly attack at night. Excluding hawks. Did move a game camera near the coop in case it comes back though.

Years ago I had a fox dig under a pen gate. It killed several birds dragging each out under the gate as it killed them. Now I have concrete under the gates. I did catch the fox. I used one of the birds it killed as bait. It shouldn't have came back...

True, but many places have the same predators with a few exceptions. I love my cameras...

Southeast United States. We have almost every us predator except bears and wolves

I live in Florida. About the only predator we don't have here is a weasel and wolves.
