These chicks are the same age and supposedly the same breed, RIR. They are now 9 days old. All the other chickes have doubled in size in the last week, but the little guy hasn't grown much at all. He is feathering in pretty well. He eats and drinks and poops and plays just like the others. What could be going on? Anything I can do to help him out?

I have a silver spangled hamburg pullet that was the same way. It seemed like she just wouldn't grow but now she's starting to catch up. If it's behaving normally/healthy then it just might be a small chick for life.

no, mine definitely didn't have droopy eyes but she was a bit slower than the others as well as being smaller. I honestly was worried about her since she wasn't as zippy as the others... now she's faster then then rest and is the hardest to catch if we have to. I honestly believe in letting the birds do their thing. I'm sure yours will catch up when she's ready... or it just might be her... just like not all people are the same :)

Itty Bitty might catch up or might stay small forever, but knowing yall had the same thing happen makes me worry less. I suppose he/she is the most spoiled at any rate! Too cute to not cuddle!
