So the darker one is called Sunny, the lighter one is Yoyo.

Am pretty sure Sunny is a boy and Yoyo is a girl (watch me be completely wrong though). The eggs we got were: Light Sussex, Welsummer, Cream Legbars, Buff Orpington and Maran.

I think Yoyo is possibly a Light Sussex and Sunny is a??? Possibly Speckled Sussex even though I don’t remember having any of those eggs. Thoughts?

(Sorry not easy to take pics, Betty is super protective, quite rightly!)

Looks like a Light Sussex chick to me alright.
Sunny doesn't look like any of those breeds to me, no striping, ect.
They're cute!
What type of Maran, btw?

Cuckoo maran. When Sunny was born I was convince he was a buff but now not so sure (he probably didn’t have the right colour beak for a buff but I was just guessing wildly).

For comparison, here is one of my buff Orpington. He's 5 weeks now.
And mine's a cockerel btw.
You can see the leg colouring is wrong for yours too.
Their beaks change colour, but yours has a bit of patchy almost red on his beak.
Ignore the cockerel pretending to lay an egg in the photo.

Sorry to stray away from figuring out the chicks breed but I can’t get over how cute big guy in the back is! I’m pretty sure I rember him form your other thread. Name was pumpkin right? So cute! Is that his same son from the other picture on the other thread too?

Ohh! Yeah, same roo, same son!
I have another cockerel, but he is a bit more camera shy.
Thank you ☺️
If anyone praises my cockerels I instantly like them 😂😂
No problem! How could someone not he’s so cute! Hopefully his son grows up to be as friendly and outgoing as him! I wish I could get a roo like him. Good luck and hopefully I’ll get to see his son when he grows up would love to know how he turns out to be!

Yeah!!
I only have 7 hens at the moment.
I have two roosters, and three chicks.
Two of the chicks are cockerels.
I'm still hoping to keep all the boys.
Pumpkin is a right sweetie. Neither him or his brother have ever pecked me or anything.
I do love buff Orpingtons.
Do you have any cockerels?

It’s amazing to have friendly Roos. I’ve heard good things about buff Orpington Roos I’ve never had a buff roo but I have had a buff Orpington hen and she was the sweetest!
So going off of her I’d say I like buff Orpingtons too! I suspect that I have a golden cuckoo maran cockerel. I’m not sure though. Her comb is big and she is heavier than all the other chicks but I’ll just have to wait and see. If she is a cockerel I plan on keeping her cause she is quite friendly and doesn’t fuss when you pick her up.
