My neighbour once snuck into my yard and took some photos of my birds while I was at work. She presented them to me in a gorgeous frame at Christmas. Its one of the best surprise presents I have ever had. If you have some good photos of the duck- especially if there is one of your daughter with the duck- maybe you could get some enlarged prints form them and put together a collage of photos in a frame. You could even decorate the frame- or paint little ducks onto it.

When my daughter was young- I started a collection of duck figurines for her. I have always collected them and have hundreds- but I wanted something special for her. Sadly the shop I bought them from closed before I got the last one in the collection. It would be difficult to find a collection of black ducks- but my own daughter has cherish these ones for years now- she cant cuddle them- but they have pride of place. They arent black- but if you could track down something similar- you could also try to find an artist that would be willing to repaint them.

Pity you werent after a mallard...This has got to be one of the cutest ones I have seen in a long while.
