Any ideas as to what breed these are?

OK, so here are some more pics. These are two others that I have figured all along are dark cornish because I have had dark cornish before from MM and they look exactly the same.

The chicks in question are very similar in body shape and leg color/size, but some of their heads are so much lighter colored that I didn't even consider cornish. Now that I have pictures of them along side each other, they do look so similar.

This one is a little smaller and has smaller legs that are alittle bit greener.

If they are all dark cornish, they sent me 7 of them out of 25!!
I thought that both of the other pictures looked similar to mine. This is driving me crazy that I haven't figured them out by now at 6 weeks old.
Thanks again for all your input.

I had to post this picture of them when they were little that shows how different thay have looked from eachother.
The one on the far left is one of the ones that I have called a dark cornish all along. The one next to it is one of the chicks in question. And there are two others on the right of the pictureon either side if the black.
They were OH SO cute!!

I went to the MM website and found this in their description of dark cornish chickens:

"Baby chicks, all purebred and from the same strain, can vary greatly in color from a light reddish buff to a darker reddish brown with dark markings on the head and sometimes a dark stripe on the outer edge of the back."

This doesn't necessarily mean that all your chicks in question are dark cornish, but it makes it harder to tell from the baby pics.

What kind of comb does the last chick have? Is it the same as the others? Are the legs of these chicks in question thicker than the legs of your other chicks?

The last chick has a a pea comb, too. And, yes, their legs are chunkier than all the other chicks'. That one in the bottom picture has a little smaller legs than the others.
The MM catalog says that dark cornish have rose combs. Is there much of a difference between pea and rose at this age? The two that I am sure are dark cornish seem to have a little flatter combs.
Thanks again

ArizonaDesertChicks, I went to the blog and, yes, that chick does look like some of mine. Further down on the page there is a batch of chicks w/ a bunch of dark cornish in it and they look exactly like mine did as babies. Some darker and some lighter.
Makes me think that they are all dark cornish!! Hard to believe that they would have sent me seven of the same breed.

After your post, I looked at that site again to see the chick pics - it looks like they bought all theirs from MM also.

I don't know if MM would send 7 of the same kind of chick or not in the asst.- I bought all our chicks from our local feed shop.

I'm not an expert on dark cornish or comb types, but according to feathersite, DC chickens have pea combs.

I did find another photo of dark cornish chicks about your chicks' age. Someone on the web has a photo comparing the dark cornish with her cornish cross (big difference in size because the dark cornish are also bred for egg laying - not just meat).

This is the photo description:

"Here's a picture of our 17 day old Dark Cornish chick, a dual purpose, heritage variety, and a white broiler chick of the same age."
This is the page I found the photo on (it's quite a ways down and you don't need to view it unless you want the reference):

Maybe you should try reposting their photos again in a couple weeks in this section with "dark cornish" in your title so that you can attract come dark cornish chicken owners (or change your title now). By then, your chicks should be more identifiable and maybe those who have raised DKs will have some photos for you too. If you do repost, take a couple closeups of the combs too.

Hopefully, the littlest one that looks different will turn out to be something else (since you'd rather not have 7 DKs).

Okay so the first pic looks to be a Dark cornish roo and the second a dark cornish pullet. I had some of these and the roos do look different from the pullets
