He's an Easter Egger cockerel.

That is what we were thinking but had been told he was a cherry egger. He just didn't look like the pictures we were finding. Thanks

a cherry egger would have a straight comb, and be solid red in color.

This bird does have some atypical features for an Easter egger--the clean face and looks like yellow legs. But with that pea comb and coloring, there's nothing else he could be.
