Ok so i have buff orpingtons and want to know if its worth me selling the eggs...
These birds are FFA projects and selling the eggs will be part of it. I will record money that i make, just like i do with spending, and i can get awards.
But how much would people be willing to spend on a dozen or maybe half dozen eggs?

And where would i be able to find out prices for shipping and boxes?

I have BO's-I was thinking about purchasing like 6 eggs to incubate-to freshen and add new blood into my girls. You can look on the USPS website and it can give you box size and prices by the weight-Im sure there are people who would be interested in your eggs-Ive sold a few batches on here from time to time-not alot though. Good luck`~

ya thanx... i need to make some money from them. Ive only put money into them and havent gotten really anything back

how many hens are laying? If you have enough hens to sell 12 or 18 at a time you can sell them in bigger batches like 18 for 22$ -shiping included-It may not sound like alot but half will be for shipping and some for supplies then youll have like 5-7$ left over for profit? can you sell eating eggs for 3-4$ a dozen-you may make more money that way if you build up a good small amount of clientell who want them every week? IDK? Sorry I couldnt be much help

Maybe $2.00 an egg with shipping included. BO are pretty common, unless they are extra spectacular looking, JMO tho.

Go to Ebay and search for "hatching eggs." Look at how much the eggs are going for, plus how many bids there are for them. That'll let you know if it's worth selling them via Ebay, and how strong your market is.

Around my neck of the woods, you don't get more than $2.50 a dozen for eating eggs. Too many people still sell them for $1.00 to $1.50 a dozen too. With the cost of feed these days, I don't know how they can do that and make any money.

We are evaluating them for our area of Texas.
Its been 100 plus off and on for the passed several weeks, so far so good since they were raised here. So far so good.
Please keep us in mind.
Our current flocks consist of barred rocks, rir and aurocanas

That would be awesome to get 2$ and egg! If you can sell them for that I hope you sell a ton! I was getting 11-12$ for 8-9 eggs shipped with tracking-which winds up being around 75 cents an egg...I wish you the best.
