Oh, I have a favorite kayaking story to tell.

So one day my family and I decided to go kayaking in a river (instead of a lake). We had two vehicles: one at the starting point, one at the end point. What was suppose to be a 1-2 hour ride ended up being 3-4 hours! The ride was nice. But the board shorts I was wearing were shorter than pants I'd wear any other day, and I didn't put much sunscreen on. I've never, to this day, have had a sunburn as bad as that one. So we finally got to the end of the trip, we bring out kayaks over, then we realized: the keys for the end point vehicle were in the car at the starting point! Thankfully, a relative lived close by and took my dad to get the other car and the keys. Life lesson learned.

I got a Ride 135, Commander 120 and a vapor 10xt. I use them for fishing and hunting and floats sometimes.

We do floats on the creeks and rivers here and I built a trailer for portaging

i have a kayak, yet to use it though.

planning to go to kayaking this spring/summer (water is still kinda chilly here)

once i get the hang of it i plan to fish from my kayak, maybe do some river trips up north.

Newbie to kayaking here. I've got a Perception Tribe 9.5 that had its maiden voyage for the first time last month. I'm a member of a gals' kayaking group and we have another get together in two days' time. Problem is, we've had copious amounts of rain and the gal's private put-in spot is a real parking challenge, especially in a truck.

I'll probably head to another location on the river and do some solo 'yakking this time. Just river and slow water stuff for me until I get better at it!
