:frow Any updates on Willow??
Yes, thanks for asking!
She had surgery on Thurs and she came home Fri afternoon:

Day 1- Friday- after getting her home and settled, she was feeling good, I think from the injectable pain meds. She was active and ate and seemed to be doing well.

Day 2- Saturday- even though she’s on pain pills, I think the injectables wore off and she was feeling it. She would only eat cucumbers and cantaloupe. She didn’t move much at all. By the end of the evening she started looking better and did drink and take a few nibbles of chicken food.

Day 3- Sunday- Willow is doing better today. She is eating her regular food- less than normal, but she is eating. I also give her some scrambles eggs to mix in it. She is a little more active but still lays around a lot. The suture area is big but looks good (will have to get pics). She naps a lot but I also put an iPad in there during the day with Animal Planet live on it haha. Don’t want her to feel lonely!

Overall I think she’s on track to a good recovery. I’m still keeping a close eye on her but considering what she’s been through, she seems to be doing pretty well.

Update- day 4- Monday- Willow hit a bump in the road to recovery today. Her incision looks good, but some of her skin near the incision is a little necrotic. Not sure why, vet said it’s not common. And it doesn’t seem to be originating from the incision either. You can see the purple sutures below the blackening skin. After talking to the vet and emailing pics of the area, Willow was prescribed an antibiotic and an additional pain med. She still has a lighter then usual appetite but she’s bright and alert and was a little more active today. Just as she seems to be getting better, this happens. It doesn’t seem to bother her too much, and I hope it doesn’t get worse. Hoping the new year brings a speedy recovery without any more complications for my little Willow!
