Any one bought Easter Eggers from My Pet chicken?

I ordered some EE chicks from My Pet Chicken, but besides that, I don't have much else to say.

Good luck!

They should lay blue or green tinted eggs. They start darker and lighten up as the hen ages. All this is subject to change depending on each hen being that Easter Eggers are a mutt breed. I just got five from Crackle Hatchery, only have two that look alike.

Easter Eggers are a mutt breed, so in reality you should get anything depending on breed. Hatcheries don't focus on anything but egg quantity when breeding, so it won't vary on hatcheries.

I've seen both pale and rich colored EE eggs from the same hatchery all the time. And even when a hatchery claims to breed out brown eggs. . . They don't.

I know their suposed to lay Blue/Green eggs. I was just wondering if the my pet chicken line layed dark or light blue, I was hoping to see some pictures of eggs from that line.

Hi,
I have 12 EE's from MPC. Just started laying a few weeks back. A couple lay a nice light blue, does not look bad actually more blue than some Pure Ameraucana eggs I have seen pictures of. Couple lay an OK blue, two lay a nice mint green, and a couple lay a nice pink brown egg. (Huge size on some of the green and pink eggs.)

I am happy with my assortment from MPC.

I am not sure any chicken lays a dark blue egg. Most true blues I have seen are light, sometimes the green blues can be darker.

I understand it varies by bird. But some hatcheries birds tend to lay a little darker or a little lighter, or a little greener or a little bluer.

They're not a private breeder, so they don't have a "line". They're just a broker/middleman and wherever they get the birds from, they then ship to you. EE's are a kind of like a pirate's treasure, you don't know what you're gonna find until you open the box, or in this case, lays an egg!
