Any one else notice.....

... has anyone ever eaten a "Sugar Ant" by accident? I don't know what happened to cause them to show up in my house and take up residence - because I keep food off the counters & floors (cleaning spills immediately) ... but just last week, they arrived like a miniature chorus line into my kitchen. Let me assure you that when squished, they emit a HORRIBLE stink, and when ingested with corn flakes, they taste even more HORRIBLE!

I blew that mouthful of cereal out onto the floor just like the slapstick comedians do with their drinks when they get some bad news... and the ants waiting below were overjoyed of course.
Yes, to answer your question, we have tons of ANTS this year.

Beetles. The big black ones. I'l see 2 to 5 of them when going to my chicken coop (it's 10 steps from my house)

Ants and garden bugs are horrible this year. It has to be a reasonable explantation for this sudden overpopulation. Could it be the rain that is causing the boom?

Too bad the honeybees aren't around as much as the ants have been. I've seen a lot of bugs too, but I think that's a healthy sign, just hope the wild birds and chickens pick up the slack on bug collecting. The big garden spiders should be doing their job soon too.

They were just talking about that on the local news this morning! We have ticks BAD and cutworms. THe skeeters are not out too much yet, nor the elm beetles...but I know they are just building forces for an en masse takeover of my bathroom....
