If you read the prior posts regarding this, you will see it was posted there for 3 days with NO responses!

lets see if this gets any responses here...I figured it would get reported after the last post!

The only way you'll know for sure whats wrong is to get them tested...
Dont you go to alot of the NH swaps and such? If you swap any of your birds the right thing to do is get them tested because it could be mereks.... good luck!

is it only one bird? Is she laying? Could she be egg bound?

She is the only bird with the symptoms and is indoors with all my other non-winter hardy breeds. The lameness started about a month after her Tylan injections so I am thinking the Tylan caused some muscle damage. I have been feeding her scrambled eggs and assorted table scraps the last week and today when I checked on her, she was actually standing up and moving around a little. I do go to the swaps here, but I am usually purchasing, not selling! That is my weekness, I allways bring some and end up not being able to part with them. I sold a few , maybe 3 or 4 birds this summer, but all my swap friends think I am crazy because I am spending way more than I have ever made! LOL

I do have her inside in my art studio with my other non winter hardy breeds! it is warm in there and she is monitored by me frequently all day. She seemed a little more mobile this morning as I have been feeding her more table scraps in addition to her scrambled eggs! I am seriously thinking that it is from the Tylan injections. She has no other symtoms other than the lameness.

maybe it is the tylan shot then... because i would think youd have more sick birds if it was catchy..
You didnt mention if she was laying? I have heard of some birds acting like that if they are egg bound... or internal layers..

I dont think she is old enough to lay, I got her at a show in Oct. and she was 2 months then so she is approx. 5 months now. She is in a cage by herself even though the others are in the same area as she is. I tell ya, she is such a spirited little thing and when she sees me coming with the food, she grabs at it like she never ate in her life! I have wormed her when I forst got her, so I dont think she could have worms. It is surely a puzzle! I just dont know how long a bird can stay like this, not walking aorund. I know horses cant lay down for long, but what about chickens? And I cannot seem to find anything documenting the lasting effects on the dmamge to muscle a Tylan shot can be.
