I know..really? what? most homeless people have nothing....some are mentally ill, some are just down on their luck, If i see a hobo=homeless person I won't give them money, but I will buy them some food at the closest place. or make some at my house and take it to them on a paper plate with plastic knife and fork plus a bottle of water.

So you were in high school when you worked at Mc D's right? Still, laughing at someone's clothing is not nice. And do you know what he got arrested for? .... might have been vagrancy or panhandling.

My hubbo's grandson is a hobo, and that is his choice. He has tested as a genius, and finds most people's life mundane. He makes a living on the streetcorner with a guitar, harmonica, and tambourine. And yes, he can play all of them at once. His mode of travel around the country is a train. He has even said that if he know just what train comes thru here, he would stop and visit. He has just married a beautiful girl that is college educated, and is a fantastic artist. We worry about them, and we pray for them, and they appreciate it, but until the time comes that they have to settle down in one place, they will continue to live the way they love. And if you wanna go to her website and look at her art, let me know.

Hobo...

Tramp...

Bum...

Homeless...

(and clown)...

Each one is vastly different from the others in their lifestyle.

**Tidbit for Q9....I seem to remember from some reading long ago
that the term "hobo" comes from the Civil War era, in that troops from
both sides returning home to a different lifestyle from the one prior to the
war simply gave up and caught a train to somewhere else. Anywhere else.
To work a while and move on.

Many people, both colored and white, found jobs in various crops as migrant
workers. Hence the term, "hoe-boy" came. Shortened to "hobo".

There also exists a creed to the hobo way of life. I would have to go search for it.
Bet it's online. But the hobo has a way of life. Many even have a 'home-base"
somewhere, most have a certain route they prefert to travel.

Now clowns....

It's not decent to refer to homeless people as "hobos." It's not decent to make jokes about them. My mentally ill brother has disappeared twice. Both times we found him living on the streets, scared, hungry and sick. Probably looking like some of the homeless people that you people are mocking. The next time someone is tempted to post one of those, "What's wrong with the world today" threads, they should just refer back to this one. This is what's wrong with the world today.
