Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Thanks Debbie... I got her with 3 others last year in a very good deal. A lady had breed to many and the market dried up. I lost 2 to a dog but I am happy that Tia made it. I am glad that both of your girls are doing good. I will have to get some of the Cider Vinegar for my girls soon. Not sure were to find it... What kind of store has that? I am thinking of trying health food store...
I had a tough time finding the ACV with mother. I was looking for the brand called BRAGGs and
found HEINZ now makes it and found it at Walmart in with the other vinegars. It is darker than
the other and you can see floaties in it. Floaties I'm told is the good stuff

We reached 1000 posts and I got 9 eggs today!!!! Lemon is still not laying but everyone else joined in on the fun today!!! The egg cartons fill up real quick when you are getting around 8 a day. They also finished laying before noon so they all got extended free range time for their hard work. Kinda reminds me of letting the kids play on the playground after a morning of testing!

Congrats 16 Paws on your first egg!

Nakstk, hang in there. My prayers go out to you for Gretta's safe return. I have read many posts on this forum where they had a hen disappear only to have her come back several weeks later with a bunch of chicks.

Happy Egg Hunting Tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Beagle. It is so hard when we love them so much. I can only pray that we will be together again some day. We lost our first Yorkie, Toto about a year ago to Cancer. Think about her everyday!

I sure hope and praythat lost Hen shows up

Good morning egg friends. Wow! 1000 posts! What a great group we have!

Welcome 16 paws, and congrats on the egg. Your coop looks nice!

I'm so sorry Greta has not come home. Losing chickens is so hard! I used to let mine free range every day, but after losing some, I built a large covered run. I still let them free range 2-3 times a week, but only when I'm home.

My chickens definitely slow down their laying when we have heavy winter weather like today. We got 8 more inches of snow last night, on top of the base we already had. And the chicken coop is still a layer of solid ice. The coop needs to be cleaned so badly. I can't wait until we have another warm spell.

Wow 1000 post. I was away yesterday.. Went to the horse expo. It was great... if you have heard of Chris Cox... Well he was there and gave an amazing workshop.

I was thinking of Greta... so sorry she is not back yet. Still hoping for her.

Kacklinkelly... Thanks we have a walmart close by. I will check that out. It will make a lot easyer to find if it is there. Thanks

16 Paws... Hi

It is great to see I have a neighbor on here. If you have not heard of Muscoy it is a part of San Bernardino. I used to live in San Diego and I still have family there and friends in Wildermar. So I have a rough idea of your area. I really love the pics of your beautiful hen house and run.
My 2 oldest girls are from July and they have been laying since the day before Christmas. I am sure our amazing weather in Southern California helps us with our girls.
So sorry about your dogs... I know what you mean. We lost a dog to cancer as well. They are a part of our family and we all hurt to see them go...

I let the girls out in the yard today :) DH is next door helping the neighbor so they have company... Lilly is more active today and loves scurring around :) Hope shes over the hump :) Also saw her checking out the nests a couple times yesterday

Still no Greta today. It so hard to think that she just vanished. There are not feathers anywhere. We were home the whole time and we were in the kitchen and we can hear the chickens when they are being loud. This is so dumb, but Gabe my 10 yr old wanted scrabbled eggs this morning and I told him not to use Greta's eggs. I guess keep them for ever. Maybe I will just poke a hole in the top and bottom and blow the egg out and keep just one not that I need it.
