Hope you guys don't mind some pictures from today. The gang was hanging out in the manure pit today, wait until fly season, they'll be all sorts of goodies in there!

Today I got 3 eggs for the first time since......well I can't tell you because I misplaced last years egg chart :( good thing I posted egg totals on this tread so I can go back and look.

Brynansmommie sorry to hear you dropped your green egg.

first 3 egg day since Oct 14th. Gosh almost 4 full months..... So glad to see more eggs in the fridge. I wanted to try a new recipe using coconut flour but it calls for 12 eggs!!! for one loaf of bread. Guess I will be waiting for a little while longer before I try making it.

Hooray to Brynansmommie for the 4 eggs, and theotherfoote for 3 eggs. And to nakstk for the 3 eggs. Seems as though the chickens think that Spring is just around the corner. Melabella: that is some action shot of your rooster. Maybe you won't have as many flies this year. It's probably warm up there too as opposed to the frozen ground.

Knobby, that is what I am hoping too, Less Flies! Yes, it was nice and warm up there, they were having a party, then Duke started crowing for 10 minutes. Goofy birds!

Way to go there USVI, I had 6 today too. I have one holdout of my 9 girls. I have only had 2 eight egg days so far. It's usually 5-7 a day around here.

Hi nakstk!

I just filled an 18 egg carton for the first time since we have started with eggs. The whole family has been just devouring them. Scrambled eggs even after school, we are nutty! lol. So happy things are starting up for you. You made me laugh, I am saving to make a ricotta pie, my recipe calls for 20 eggs! lol...

Sounds like everyone had a good egg gathering day! MB your birds are so cute. You have a nice mix of breeds. Nakstk i would love to get the bread recipe you mentioned. My mother in law has celiac disease and I would like to make her a loaf.
 
OK, I snuck out to take a peak and.....NOTHING Can't wait to celebrate with you all.
How crazy is it that I am thinking of people I have never met before I check my coop in
hopes to celebrate with you. You are the only folks who get as excited about all the
chicken antics as I do. Until then, I will continue to live vicariously through those of
you receiving eggs.

Although the nest box was empty, I did get a great laugh when one of our girls went
chasing after our 60 lb dog trying to get hold of a dried pigs ear treat in the dogs mouth.
The dog was hiding and running away from the chicken. Had to actually let her go back
into the house to enjoy her treat. Love my reality chicken shows
