Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

What a pretty Maran egg! My incubator is full of Maran eggs right now from another farmer. I can't wait for them to start laying this summer. (Now I'm literally counting my chickens before they hatch)

Putting my camera in the coop has been very encouraging! I have several pictures now of Irlene the EE checking out the nesting box. Yesterday I heard her practicing her egg song. I was so excited that I spent this morning doing minor coop repairs. I built a new roost, and one more nesting box, and I repaired the older nesting boxes and the ladder. And I did a thorough cleaning, although I fully expect everything to be poop covered within the week. I don't know what it is about my current flock, but they are the poopiest chickens I've ever had.

Haha sounds like me. I stock the coop daily. My husband is very tolerant :) he's driving 4 hours to gets some silver laced Wyandotte pullets :) I'm excited for them to lay

Debbie I looked at the link you sent.... Beautiful. We do get snow down here... In our Mountains... Mt Baldy, Big Bear, Arrowhead... They are all about less then an hour away. But nothing like this. I once visited Olympic national park and we stayed near or in Port Angeles. (My Mom and I on vaccation) That was several years ago and definitely in the summer. We dipped below freezing here again this morning.. It happens a few time a winter here... But not like your place. But it sure does look amazing.

what sort of camera do you have, and does is withhold in cold weather, or do you just put it out at 'that time of day' ?
i would love to do a video...song and all! :)
i tried to peek at your pix, but i was denied access  boo!

Only got two eggs today. The daily ISA Brown egg which is her 12th consecutive day. Also the RIR which is her second day. My Americana skipped today but I figured she wouldn't lay seeing she laid so late yesterday. I think i'm gonna get 4 tomorrow! I did get 3 false egg songs today so there was a lot of choir practice.
