I went out to the coop this evening, and only found one egg. But is was different from my other eggs. It was olive!



Checked the camera, and it confirmed. Irlene is my new egg layer!

Love it! Before you know it, there will 6 eggs in that basket! Here is my cache so far today, actually had 5 but I ate it for breakfast.

I went out to my coup for a visit today. My hen didn't lay this morning but when I went@ 1pm she was in the nesting box. She squalked for a while before hopping down and leaving a hot little egg behind. Yay!

Cute baskets I am hoping this year with 8 chicken I might actually need a cute little basket for eggs. I told DH that it's almost time to start looking for my baby chicks he said sure but we are getting 100.

He means for meat birds. They are just not as fun as egg girls and they are a LOT more work.

You know what I want to store my eggs...one of those little egg stands like that guy had in the egg inside an egg video. What a great way to keep the eggs in order! I have a wire basket, but it's always a pain digging the older eggs out of the bottom. Does anyone have any idea where I could find one of those stands? I don't even know what it's called.
