Hello! We have a few chickens and ducks who have bumblefoot! All of the chickens are heavy landers from the top perch. It is very time consuming to do surgery on all of them and any other option usually includes dressing their food several times a day.I don't want anything to happen to them. Is their any other way that doesn't involve surgery or wrapping? Could we add something to their food?

As far as i am aware those are the only real effective options for treating bumblefoot. Keep in mind your best bet would be to contact a vet to see if there are any other options that I am not aware of.
Please keep me updated, I would like to see if there are any different treatment options that I don't know about.

I brought my hen to the vet for her bumblefoot. Rather than do surgery she has me soaking her foot in chlorhexidine solution once a day for 5-10 minutes. After she gets out I spray it with vetericyn and bandage the foot. She's almost healed now but I've been doing this for well over a month already.
