How are the babies??

I'd like to take a moment to warn ALL other Alaskans about AK Button Mama.........

She's an enabler of the bunny persuasion!

We met in Anchorage today and swapped Button Quail for the biggest dang Flemish giant rabbit you have ever seen. And she threw in a couple of his offspring to boot. Mrs. AKBB has already adopted one of the boys. (she going to hug him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George)

By the way, anyone who wanted button eggs from us this spring had better play nice with AK button mama she is now the proud owner of our flock of buttons.

Lol! I told my kids that we couldn't have another bunny a number of years ago. We were in the pet store-they just had to make me hold the cutest little floppy eared bunny, and from then on, he ended up in my sweater pocket, head bobbing up and down looking out at the rest of the world until he grew out of my pocket! AK Button Mama-you stay away from North Pole, ya hear?!!!

I'm not lettin' anybody say "Oh please mom, just hold him, you'll like him!" (Oh no you don't-ElegantChicken and LaPetitFarmGirlinAK!!) NO MORE BUNNIES!! They creep into your heart and then the next thing you know, they're lickin' relatives bald heads, walking around with curled up whiskers from chewing electrical cords, trying to make you believe they curled them with the curling iron-then they decorate 'em with cobwebs snarled in their fancy curled whiskers, just when you thought you got all the cobwebs-they gotta remind you ya missed one!! And what right do they have flippin' books off the top of the couch to get your attention! And those cute bunny hops, oh my!!! Oh no you don't, we've been too partial to bunnies for too many years-and now we're partial to chickens, thank-you very much!! - the feathered kind, not the human kind!!!

HA HA! I got into chickens cause I thought I wanted to get bunnies! My youngest daughter, fifth child/young adult now, she absolutely loves bunnies and took her stuffed toy rabbit to college w/her, named Bun Bun. She says her big brother's dogs are searching out Bun Bun when she's not home and have torn a hole in Bun Bun's face:( I'm in Nome, have four flocks (now, had more) of chickens, ducks that just started laying last week, geese and Tori's four blue silkie chicks in the house...I've put them out in the warmest coop nearest the front door of the house twice and had to have them inside again. I love "Falcon" eyeballing me in the morning and insisting we practice crowing together instead of getting ready for work

Lately he's taken to a few practices just before bedtime, too. I thought I had three cockerels and only one pullet but I might have lucked out and got two pairs...still waiting to see;) I think its time for some updated pics of them this weekend!

Still no bunnies here yet, started making a mansion of a home for bunnies but got silkies instead:) Haven't finished their mansion either, its too cold right now and NOT as cold as your interior weather, either! I heard it was 36 below just the other day...
I'm freezing tonight so don't tell me how cold til tomorrow LOL

Lol! I wish it was only _36 below!!!

I had some beautiful bunnies in CA before I moved in Aug. I built them a super nice pen and everything... I'll have the best rabbit pen in AK before next summers over! Hopefully
