Any parents here feed raw goat milk to their babies?

Drs also tell us to keep kids on their backs for sleep or they'll DIE, DIE, DIE. They also advise us to give them every shot in the book, some of which could kill kids. Take anything you hear from Dr's with a grain of salt. Remember, we didn't have all of this technology just a century ago, and the human race is still here.

Amen.

I was raised on goat's milk because my mom had breast surgery which made breastfeeding off limits, and I was allergic to formula. I lived. I do hear a lot of people say to wait until a child is 2 years old I think, but a lot of people don't.

Yeah our girls only get a few select shots, alot of people frown upon us doing this but we feel it's best to avoid unneccissary things put into our kids systems. My husband and I, on the other hand, have had all the shots and are fine as well... it's all just a matter of how you manage your family, same as herds of livestock and flocks of chickens I suppose

Everyone threw a total fit when I refused flu shots for myself while pregnant, and my son once he was 3 months. I've never had the flu before, and I just don't deem it necessary to stab junk into everyone simply to avoid an inconvenience of illness. The human race did just fine without flu shots for as long as it has, why insist on them and certain other ones now?
Our son also ONLY slept on his belly (caught a lot of gruff from people on this one too, but he wouldn't sleep on his back), and he even had rice cereal in his bottle (which was again, a big no-no, but it was either put that in his bottle or let him puke everything up and never have a full tummy). He's still alive and kicking and quite healthy. According to today's doctors, our generation should all be dead, because our parents would have done at least one thing that they now deem deadly, lol.

I am old enough to have worked on a dairy farm where we milked the cows by hand..

I can tell you why they started pasteurizing milk..

it was to sanitize it because the dairies had to cover their butts..

once in awhile you would get a friskie cow who would give you a surprise kick. most of the time you could avoid the kick, but her foot would end up in the milk pail.

the cow's owner could not afford to throw that milk away soooo
you dumped it through the milk strainer and that took care of any chunks, and hair and flies..

and do you know?? we took milk out of the can for in the house use.

and I am here to tell you that nobody in the house heated anything up..

The primary reason commercial milk is pasturized is because commercial milking facilities are often DISGUSTING.

I've been to one. It was nauseating. Several times while I was there, a cow would step on one of the lines, removing the suction from her teat. Know what it would land in? FLOP. Know what it then sucked up until a busy worker reattached it to her teat? FLOP.

Yeah, maybe this doesn't happen at EVERY dairy...but all it takes is one to taint a whole packaging plant.

The FDA can't stand behind an unhealthful product, and the farmers are often too cheap to toss 40 or more lbs of milk from one cow just because it sucked up some manure...it's enough to cure you from buying milk at the store, I swear. So many times when I get to really see where my food comes from, I find this is the case.

Provided your animals at home are healthy, free of TB, etc...and you are milking in a sanitary way...the benefits FAR outweigh the risks.

I have a jersey heifer that is bred and we wanted to use her milk for various things. So i just need to boil it right or is there other things i need to do to be safe thanks.

I agree. One of the reasons people get so sick now is that we have become so germ phobic that we are killing the good stuff out of fear of the small, rarer stuff. We over antibateria everything and then wonder why we have drug resistent bacterias..........

Just keep the animal vaccinated. That is the main thing. If you choose to pasteurize you just have to bring it to temp 180, not boil it. If you want to use it for young children then I would pasteurize. But if you choose to only use it for adults, then you might not worry about pasteurizing. It is a matter of choice.

I agree that people are killing to many good germs. I have heard over and over again that farm kids are far more healthier than city kids. I have seen this to be true. My son is 2 1/2. He hasn't been sick like other kids I know. Since he was born he has had a cold twice, that is it. He runs with all the animals, has been drinking raw milk since last fall, and plays in the mud. He even feeds with me during this cold weather. I believe people that are exposed to more germs have a better immune system that keeps them healthier. I am working going more natural for my family. I believe we will be healthier and happier that way.
