Makes me miss mine

I had a Hahn McCaw, Snuggles. He was my bestest bud; raised him(or her) from a chick. He would repeat stuff I said, "Whatcha doing?", and " Snuggles shut up" were his two favorites

I had a friend watching him for me while I was away and he opened the wrong door on his cage to feed him and Snuggles flew away, never to be seen again.

I should go find some pictures, he was such a cutie!

That must have been awful!
The same nearly happened to me just the opposite way round:
I was looking after my friend's quails when one of them escaped out of the cage and flew at least 10 meters into the air over the house. Luckily i spotted it running around on the park across the road and I caught it again. My adrenalin was still racing through me for several minutes afterwards.

So sorry that happened. Ive had one escape too but it was a quaker. I do love mini macaws though. I have an Illigers. Hes a mess

Well I am brand-new to having indoor pet birds I just got Baby and Tango this past Sunday - we had decided to get conures and found these two needing a new home. I am an avid user of the chicken and turkey threads and was thrilled to find out that there is also a forum for caged birds!

Enjoying them so far - lots of learning to do with them! They are surprisingly affectionate with us already which is sweet
