A friend of my daughters offered to help us hatch out some eggs. She gave us four chicks that she claims are ours but I can not figure out what this one is. When it was a day old it was a blue and yellow but it had alittle black fuzz running down the outside of its legs. My breeders are kept separate so I know it is not one of mine any quesses. Shes about 5 weeks old.

you can see her legs . She also gave us a barred rock pullet, phoenix pullet and some featherfooted bantam. None of which I have. lol

They are really pretty. There is a post on here of hatchery chicks that remind me of these. They were supposed to be Golden Langshan (gosh, I think langshan??) but were not. It was a post about the time it took to ship birds (5 days) and then they were re-shipped and the breed was correct. If I can locate it, I'll try and add the link. Now I am thinking Langshan is not the right breed, I'll go and let you know.

Edited: Found it. Farrier wrote about Silver Lakenvelders! That's it Lakenvelders. I have had some before, all three I ordred turned out to be Roos. They were beautiful. Thats what yours looks like to me. It's a current post, post number 88, page 8 or 9. Chick finally arrived Friday....................... Hope this might help just a bit. Henz

she could be a poor quality Lakenvelder? mixxed with some EE?? do Lakenvelder's have feathered feet? if not... she could be mixed with brahma???? Brahma x EE???

HAHA, just a WILD guess....

I just looked at Lakenvelders on feathersite. They do not have feathered feet. But she doesn't either its her legs that have the fuzz not her feet She did look like the lakenvelder chicks though except for the legs. lol She is also rather large for her age and is bigger than the other hatched the same day. Maybe Brahma mix with lakenvelder It will be interesting to see what she looks like when shes grown.
