Any reason we couldn't use ceramics for feeder?

Dh went to the thrift store and bought these items to made a feeder. Any reason why this wouldn't work? It's so cute! We won't be able to hang it, so I know we will need to raise it up for them. Thanks!

Just a guess here but I would think that you don't see ceramics b/c they're breakable. They'll roost on top so you'll need to make sure that they either can't get on top or that it's stable enough that it won't get knocked over.

very pretty-I use ceramic for babies- and for some of the small pens too. I get them from thrift stores- always looking for chickens dishes
