Any success moving a duck hen and her nest of eggs

I hope it's a smooth transition for you to. I have two SF hens[chickens] sitting on Runner eggs one has to be moved by end of week to a safe place since she is in a chicken nest box about 3.5 ' off the ground in the coop hoping that will go well I just sit her nest box an all into the safe floor area.

Definitely hope that move goes safely and smoothly.
I have moved chicken hens to nesting cages after two weeks. I make a thick nest in the cage using same material as in the laying nest. Then at night slip out and move eggs to the nest and then place hen by the nest in the cage. A lot depends on the broody nature of the chicken. Most will settle quickly.

I have all my hens moved but 2 and these two are so temperamental, I will have to move at night for sure. lol When I got my other 4 hens [bantams] moved to their hatching areas. I tried to move this SF and she went berserk so I let her go back to her nest and put her eggs back under her. All my bantams are so wonderful at making the change but boy these two girls:rolleyes:

We now have 9 baby ducklings fresh out of the incubator.

Sadly Maggie was run off her nest by high winds and serious rainfall. A fallen limb was the last straw.
I gathered her 10 eggs with as must of the nesting material as I could and situated her nest in a barrel coop. With a fence closely surrounding the barrel, Maggie slept with her eggs it did not cover them. She refused to care for her clutch.

By morning, the eggs were cooled. I candled them and found a slight movement in one of the eggs. One egg was not developing. I placed them in the cabinet incubator. Once the eggs reached temperature I candled them again....lots of movement in each of 9 eggs.
Without a broody duck or hen, the eggs completed growing in the incubator....lucky ducklings!
