Any suggestions as to what type of chicken this is?

We rescued this little bird yesterday and are looking to find out what type it is. We have a coop with six layers but don't want to introduce our new friend until we have solid advise. The unusual thing he the bird has a very pretty song unlike our others

I sent the photos to my vet and they think it may be a fighting cock. Didn't expect that one. I'll take the bird in to confirm.
