any sunburn tips?

I used vinegar b4 and it really helped alot! Especially with the stinging but I swear it help keep me from peeling too! I applied it liberally (a misting bottle would work good) and sat in front of a fan. I used Noxema once b4 too and it did cool the burn but dried my skin out terribly! And I peeled and flaked for days. Yuck.

I'm really fair, too. I've got a special shade of transparent only found in the Pacific Northwest: "Washingtonian White".

Reapply sun screen throughout the day. You can't put it on once and expect that will last the day. It needs about 15 minutes to activate once you've applied it.

And if you do get burned after all that, go get some spray-on lanocaine at the drug store. That stuff saves my burned bacon.

Your BEST protection against sun burn is a proper blood level of vitamin D. If you are deficient, your skin will let through every single sun ray in an attempt to get your levels up to where they should be. I take supplements during the winter and since I started doing that I no longer burn.

Unfortunately, you aren't going to get your levels up in one day. This is something to think about for the future.

i have exposure to the sun daily for short about 30 minute periods. i walk home from school so i dont think its vitamin d deficiency

Solarcaine makes a product that is aloe gel with lidocaine. The lidocaine soothes the burn while the aloe heals it. The bottle will say Burn Relief Aloe Extra Gel.
I take a med that makes me super sensitive to the sun. Thirty minutes outside and I'm burned to a crisp. Twice had to be hospitalized for 2nd degree sunburns.
