Rat Terriers originated on American farms in the 1950's. The people that recognize my rats are people that remember having them as kids on the farm. They always say that they remember them as the best dogs they ever had.

The terrier group is by far my favorite bunch of dogs out there.

I']m glad to see that others have Rat Terriers. I have one who is 9 yrs old, Penny. However, Penny was very heavy and we found out she had a thyroid problem. I'm proud to say that now she is down to 20 lbs. Was is the average weight?
