Any thoughts on my coop?

I wasn't sure but i think i sall that the floor was dirt, like the coop was placed on the ground. My cousin who had chickens had something like that and the raccoons dug underground and got a couple of the girls.

Well the City of Seattle just increased the number of chickens you can have to 5, I believe. But we wont be getting any more.

So I can add about 27 sqf to the run. It will be less secure but I think it will be fine during daylight.
I'll replace or add hardware cloth to the existing coop and add a 6' high chickenwire fence in an L shape extending the run. The existing door becomes the door to the new run in it's current position in the picture and can be closed on the old coop at night. They'll get to use their favorite dirt bath with this configuration.

So I made their run bigger.

We got our first egg 2 days later. At roughly 27+ weeks.

Like the coop much better now that you expanded the run. Looks great!

I like it and especially with the added run space. The only thing I did'nt see was a door for the coop to secure them at night. My run is not very secure either, the thought is if a dog or larger animal is attacking they'd run into the coop. But I do have a door on the coop to stop the night preditors like Mink coming up from the river.

The first week I put the chickens outside I'd started with one of the kids old plastic houses. Ya know, the 3x3.5 houses kids use. Anyway, I'd not put it on a board as they loved the grass...that's when I learned what weasels can do. Needless to say the tractor was finished the next day and that plastic house put on top. Worked great for the entire summer until I built the permenant 4x4 coop that now sits on the tractor/run.
