I just got my girls today. Do you have any tips for a first time Chicken Mommy?

Yep. Read the "raising baby chicks" section.

Once you've done that, folks will be more than happy to answer specific questions. Congrats on the new babies!!!

Just to enjoy your chickens and remember they are pretty forgiving. They are easy once you learn some basics and the only warning I have is to not find yourself on the wonderful web site all day. Sometimes I find it hard to quit reading long enough to make lunch! OH, one more warning those really cute chicks in the feed store and in the catalogs all fit so nice in a shoebox, but when they grow up, well, they take up a little bit more room. Like puppies and babies, they don't stay cute and little long enough.

I agree with the other posters.
READ, READ, READ!

I spent a year reading through the forum pages before I became a chick mommy.

There is so much to learn! And after you get the babies, there's so much more to learn as you go.

It's all FUN though.

Enjoy!!
