I have heard that peachicks are delicate. How do you successfully take of them?'
Thanks

Go down to FL where in some neighborhoods they run loose and breed like crazy. Those people wish they could get rid of all of them. I saw an episode on "Good Morning America" about it. You can probably find it on You Tube. They are very pretty but I am sure the extreme nice quality of bird are hard to care for and raise.
Just like chickens or any other animal, only the good die young!

Hi, you treat peachicks like turkey poults. I keep mine off the ground on wire until at least 3 months . Earth bound organisms are the greatest threat to peachicks. I also color their feed with green food coloring. This helps to get them interested in food early and you can tell by their food if they are eating well - see the die in the poop. You can die their water too. Use a baby chick if you only have a few peachicks to help too. Handle them a lot if you want them tame. A tame peafowl is an easy to catch peafowl. Other than that treat them like a poult.

I normally mix a drop of it in a little water then stir it in the starter, fluffing the mix every now and then to dry it. Just make sure not to let damp feed sit over nite......

Good advice , like to add feed a medicated starter 24% to 28%.

First few days give them hard boil eggs yolks, over the feed. May be the bright yellow color, but does help them find the food.
