Any top soil/dirt brand recommendations??

Well, I already applied the fabric, and I don't want tye expensive landscaping fabric to go to total waste, so I think the only option for me is to follow through with the top soil directly on top.
Do you think it's still okay if I still continue to use the landscaping fabric?
And later on just let the natural sand from my backyard and my top soil to come just come together on its own?
IMO the cost and labor to remove it after it becomes an issue would be worse. The sand (and the extra soil that presumably you'd be paying for) would be mingling with shreds of plastic.

You could always repurpose the fabric for use in garden walkways or such, no need to let it go to waste. I have a whole roll of it in my garage too.

OMG I am sorry sorry.
I was completely wrong...I'm actually using weed block or ground cover, so it's more of fabric you lay down. That was my bad, cause when you said plastic I got a little confused and realized I was talking about a whole different landscaping product 😅

Is tye weed block still okay to use?
And on the sand I already have in my backyard, when I started wanting chickens, there was A LOT of brick I had to clear out and just random pieces of debris, but good news I cleaned up as much as I could cleaning up any small pieces of trash left.
But with that, do you think the sand is still is a good potential foundation being where I live my area is built on sand?

Remove the weed block, they'll tear it up scratching no matter what you put on top of it and you'll eventually have to remove it anyway.

It should be fine.
You said you had to remove a bunch of brick, does that mean the run area is lower than the surrounding area?
Might be come an issue with rain water gathering there.

Might help to know....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Well there's a cement brick wall which my coop is enclosed with, while the other remaining side is the house.
So, yes the area is lower, but the cement wall is keeping the chicken area separate from the rest of the yard.

If it's what I'm thinking there's still some form of plastic in it. Even if it is 100% natural fiber fabric then threads and such are still a danger to the chickens as they can tangle around toes and tongues, or clog up digestive tracts.

Yes, because that's what already exists there. Litter and poop management is easier if you work in harmony with your climate and environment, instead of against it.

Okay, thank you for your inputs!!
I will definitely go a different route for my run, I just wanted to make sure all was gonna be okay for my chooks since this is my first flock, so thank you all again for your replies 🙂
