What a great idea!! I am new too, I started out telling my husband I wanted 4 hens for eggs, a month later I am up to 26. I have two coops built, One is a hen house with 6 Buff Orpingtons and 2 Black Sex links. I have two pair of Black Copper Marans in the other coop. My husband is building a breeder coop that will have my other breeds separated with indoor and outdoor space for each breed. They are now in the morning room in tubs. I have Silver Laced Wyndottes, Seramas, and Easter Eggers. I really want Guineas prefer white because I have two white dogs and one brown, I can locate the white ones in the field at a glance and have to hunt to see the brown. Ticks are so bad this year so I think he will build a Guinea Coop too. I clicked to "follow member" all the newbies here. What breeds does everyone have????

Hi, everyone from rural Western Arkansas. Small town of 168 people here. I would love to join in. We raised chickens when I was a kid. Have been trying to get my husband to agree to chickens for years on our 5 acres. He gave in last fall. I now have 8 grown hens, 4 9 week old pullets and 60 eggs in an incubator.

Would love to have someone to chat with! Thanks for the idea.

My family thinks I am crazy especially my oldest daughter who should have been born in the city instead of the country.
