I think this is a 2 week old Roo. We hatched him from a batch of mixed Wyandotte eggs and are unsure which colour he is. Original idea was black as he looked completely black as fluff but although dark is feathers are less black than SLW so slightly greyish and he has white in his feathers.

What is he ? :)

It doesn't look like a Wyandotte but more like a Barred rock due to that white head spot. Do you have any more pics?

Here, a another pic of him... The 6 eggs were definately supposed to be a selection of their wyandottes. The only other chooks they have are various Marans :). But I have looked all over online a pics of Wyandotte chicks and not found any like him... Thus my confusion

It could possibly be a Barred Wyandotte if they raise that variety. But the green legs suggest a mix.

The Marans they have are copper blue/ black, copper splash and silver blue /black.... They do have barred wyandottes too tho

I,ll be quite disappointed if he turns out to be a cross as these eggs weren't,t the cheapest and supposed to be from breeders with show quality stock with seperated pens lol.....I love him either way but would be nice to know what the little guy is lol

It could be a pure Barred Wyandotte. But the legs being tinged could mean a)poor quality or b)mixed

I hope others chime in to give you some more input.
