Anybody been to Sanibel Island? :)

We are considering staying at the Seahorse Cottages on Sanibel. I like that it's right at/near the beach, and they have wagons for shelling and shell washing stations. Any reviews on this place?

We have a condo on Sanibel (at the Sundial Beach & Tennis Resort)...we go any weekend we can!

Go. You'll never be sorry that you went. The island is a Florida Treasure.

Just don't too many people about it....we don't want it to become like Key West!

Hubby and I went to Ft. Meyer's Beach when I was pregnant with DD #1, we went in the off season, so we didn't have teenager problems, in fact we didn't have crowded problems at all. We did not make it to Sanibel because the cab would have been something like $40 each way. So we took the trolly to Lover's Key State Park. Very pretty there and we found all kinds of shells, and I saw a manatee! We also walked around the end of the island one day and it was very pretty clear water and I found a bunch of shells there too. Either way it's lovely there all around, so I hope ya enjoy!

Are any of the creatures in the shells good/ok to eat? I love cooked shellfish. Please advise.

Ha! No.....they are more along the lines of hermit crabs or fighting conch.....which I would think are too small to mess with/cook
