I've been Goat Rope 4 times this year for jury duty! It's March! Come on! There's about 50,000 other folks they can pick from! I tried to get out of it but they won't let me! how can I make myself less desirable to the judge? Anybody have any tips for dodging it?
Nope, as long as you haven't actually served on the jury for that particular District, Municipality, County, Grand Jury etc. in the last 6 months, year(whatever the time period is where you live), you're fair game. Sorry! It can be a bit inconvenient. However, be proud, you're doing you're civic duty!
have you served all four times or been excused three times already? Here, if you are excused you are automatically called for the next session.
I know it's a pain and a disruption of schedules, but if you haven't served before you will be surprised how interesting and informative it can be.
It sure isn't like tvworld...don't even think it
I cant get on jury duty. The one time I was called I went every day for a week an was dismissed in less than a hour every day. I could do that full time..... Never been called again.
Made something like $250 for 5 hours of nothing.....
Quote:
here in michigan you get 25$ a day and 12.50 for 4 hours of waiting.
Huge problem for a self employed guy who's work goes in starts and stops.
Wear your best biballs, worst muck boots, bring Glen Becks book Common Sense and show it to everyone there, and spout both liberal and conservative propaganda. If the guys with the butterfly nets don't get ya first, the lawyers on both sides will excuse you

No pay if you get called to sit and wait, and like $12 a day if you serve. As the primary caregiver of a disabled child, I send in the request for exemption and get excused.
I lived here twenty years and never been called. Is there something wrong with me? Or am I jinxing it so that at the most impossible time to serve, THat's when they'll call?
