Anybody else been "Goat Roped" into jury duty this year?

I grew up in Kansas. Almost 3 years after I moved to Alaska, I got called up for duty in Kansas.
My mother told them that I had moved, and of course they did not believe her.
I have no idea why my change of permanent address did not show on their system

Never been called otherwise.

Here you are payed a days pay weather you serve or get excused. You miss work ether way so you get paid ether way. I know all the cops personally an I'm related to all the criminals so I never serve. So that's why I wish they called me every time.

Wow! I want that job! Where do I sign?

Been a registered voter for twenty nine years. Haven't been called in over twenty years. The one and only time I was called I'd moved out of that county two years before.

And I'm one of those people who WANT to serve.

.....Alan.

I get called to jury duty every 2 years in February like clockwork!!!

In CT jury pools are filled by Lists generated by the Motor Vehicle Department.
If you don't register a vehicle you probably won't get called.

If you get called anyway and really don't want to serve, then answer your questions(gua dere) very carefully.

"No, I would not be able to put a dollar value on a human life"
" i think ALL illegal aliens should be deported immediately"

Any reference to "white power" will work.

BE CREATIVE THEY DON'T WANT A LUNATIC

I forgot to mention in my previous message - I ALWAYS SERVE WHEN I CAN

I consider it a privilege and an honor.

Of course now that I am self-employed I can no longer afford to serve. Self-employed persons can get outof it very easily.

"I don't know your honor. My chickens usually tell me what to do."

When they tried to get me to do jury duty. I said well who is going to pay for childcare for my two kids and gas to get to the next town over.. They released me of duty..

My husband when he got called for jury duty. He said that he would loose to much money from not working that we would loose our place to live. Which wasnt a lie. They released him of jury duty..

Who and how people get called varies by county and by state.

In the county I am registered in, I have been called every year since turning 21. I believe the reason is that for the county I serve in, the population of Asian decent is about 25%, and for a "fair" trial, you need a jury of peers.... with a good proportion of Asians not being citizens in the area I live... me and another Asian friend of mine who were born in the US get called annually to fill the gaps. What I do though to avoid going is to call in and request my trial week to be the week of Christmas. Only have had to go to one case and it was on x mas eve, one day, fast trial.

I have never, not once been called to jury duty....and I am a paralegal.
