My Kids are too young to experiment like that!!!

OH- you mean with chickens!!

I am definitely going to keep that in mind in the springtime!! I can't get good homes for even one of them. I want to keep them all but not if i have to keep them goin' at it and tearing each other apart!!

I have to go count now how many roos I have...my barn is a NOISY place though...not very calming.

Hatched two small batches this year. 4 out of 5 roosters the first time and 2 out 3 roosters the second time.
I have already sharpened my axe, too many roosters running around.

Yep....way more roos than pullets out of most of my hatches since last winter.

Of the babies we have hatched, I dont know for sure yet, but I get the feeling they are mostly roos.Sigh.

First hatch early spring this year i got 7 roos out of 10 eggs. I am hoping my luck turns around because it took the entire summer to rehome those roosters. I have 13 serama eggs under a broody hen and 4 more misc cochin mix eggs under a broody serama, if i end up with alot of roos this time around things are gonna get nuts real fast around here. I may just have to make one heck of a batch of chicken soup!
