Anybody else on LOCKDOWN?? Hatch day Aug. 5th!

You guys are making me miss all the anticipation of the hatching process.

Mine only took about 24 hours from the time I saw my first one to the last ones. Of course, I don't expect them all to go like that... but it would be nice

I will say looking at my pretty little chicks is nice too. I'll try to post more pics later.

Oh... I also agree with ChooksChick. DON'T open the eggs, but try to bump the humidity. Mine seemed like they were zipping for FOREVER. It's a lot slower stage than I had anticipated. They could also be resting a bit in there

It could just be the umbilical connection, and it could be that it has a rough navel- which I can't identify as I've only heard about it.

Don't touch anything, though, until you know what you're looking at- they can lose their insides if they tear there.

I did have one once with an umbilical herniation, and managed to work it into a fix over a couple of days, so don't fret yet. Hope the baby is ok! They all seem weak after hatching, don't they?

Give us a pic!

Okay, previous pic arrived as I was typing...

Does it look different than others it's coloration? I think that buff color may just be more transparent when wet.

I'd like to see the navel area if you can get a shot of that. Be patient- that baby worked hard for a long time; it may just need a rest- I had one that lay motionless for an hour after a hatch...it nearly killed me to wait for movement.

She's a gorgeous teen now!

ok, these are the best pictures I could without opening the bator...temp is at 98 and humidity 65%, I hate to mess with the knob and raise the temp as its an LG 9200 and there touchy dont want it to spike to over 101

I see the dark spot but can't tell what it is- I would let it rest for a good long while and wait and see. I know that's really hard to do...perhaps you need to go get something for dinner from the store?

It won't hurt to leave it for a while, and it will help you to be distracted...again...I'm talking to myself...I have one having the longest hatch ever!

are you still hatching!!!!....I have like 6-7 buffs more to hatch....and 3 cuckoo marans, and 3 RIRs still to go!!!! Checked on it, it looks bald and weak, but ok...gonna run to the grocery store...get few things...eat...etc...been up since 7am and still havent had breakfast and its 145pm. I just didnt want it to suffer. NEXT QUESTION: should it not make it, how do I dispose of it? best way???

here is what I have so far:
