Hennys, that's what my dear hubby said. He said tons of people probably entered.
(I'm thinking, nobody has that kind of free time...)
The magazine said they'd give me a framed copy of it with official BH&G certification as to it's superiority in the world of recipes. Now I can croak happy!
You'd be surprised Buffs... TONS of people enter those contests. I watch Food Network all the time and they have those contest winners on there for a "Finale Cookoff Championship" - winner gets 10K - so yes... thousands of people enter, but few will win (enter disclaimer land here) LOL!
Hennys, I have to say the finished product is not photogenic. It's made with blue cornmeal, which is gray after baking. So you've got a gray cornbread with big dark gloppy blobs of blueberries. I'm thinking they were smart to not have chosen it as one they would have to photograph for the mag.
I'm very glad the $50 prize covers the amount I spent on blueberries while perfecting the recipe. ($36!)
I have wanted to enter the Cook's Country recipe contest for a long time- but I seem to be much too busy to really do it. Its on my "pie in the sky" list
