I am sending in an entry to a magazine recipe contest today, and I wondered how many of you have tried recipe contests ...

My wife won second place in the spam contest at the Minnesota State Fair a few years ago. They told her she probably would have won 1st but it didn't look nice enough. Something to keep in mind. Good luck

(It's for Better Homes & Garden's - "creative cornbread" category, which will be published in May. I'm hopin' for the $400 big payoff!!!!! My prototypes were pretty popular at my offices, and a big shot Boston lawyer who was here for a meeting requested some to be FedEx'd to him yesterday, which I did - hey, maybe I should have charged him $400!)

I just got some paperwork from Better Homes & Gardens magazine. They want ownership rights to my recipe!
I won in the "Honor Roll" category, which earns me $50 and my name listed in tiny type on an obscure page in the May issue.
